The Person Behind the Page

My name is Zene Wade, and I am currently a Senior at Georgia State University. I am in the process of earning my Bachelor of Biomedical Science and Enterprise.

I have been interested in science since I was a young girl from my mom buying me science kits to play with. As I got older and gained more experience, my passion for science grew and by high school I knew I wanted to study Biomedical Science. With family members that are always being diagnosed for some illness, I knew I wanted to do something to help. It is my family that continuously motivates me to keep going forward with my educational and career goals.

 

For my signature experience I decided to go with independent research. I felt this was the best choice for me to build technical and transferrable lab skills, as I want to work in a lab one day.

 

My journey so far has been one big learning experience that continuously grows with each successful and failed experiment that I complete. I'm learning techniques such as PCR, cDNA synthesis and TOPO cloning.
